Issuance of Certificate of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO)

Service description

The Authorised Economic Operator is an economic operator who is reliable in the context of his customs related operations, and, therefore, is entitled to enjoy benefits throughout the Community.

 

Customs Agency grants AEO status, by issuing a certificate. AEO Certificate issued in EU member state is recognized by the customs authorities in the other states of the Union.

 

The customs authorities may issue the following types of AEO certificates:

 

  • AEO Certificate – Customs Simplifications;
  • AEO Certificate – Security and Safety;
  • AEO Certificate – Customs Simplifications/ Security and Safety.

 

What do I need to prepare?

To use this service you need to file the following documents:

 

  1. Application form.
  2. When first applying for certificate, you must attach certificates of criminal record for the following persons:
  • Manager;
  • Owner of the capital;
  • the person responsible for the supervision of the business operation;
  • legal representative for customs matters, when applicable.

 

  1. 10 mandatory annexes:
  • details of the principal owners/ shareholders – names and addresses and shareholdings; details of the members of the Board of Directors or Managing Board; whether the owners are known to the customs authorities with past incorrect activities;
  • a person in the applicant’s administration, responsible for customs matters;
  • description of the applicant’s business activities;
  • detailed information on the location of the sites of the applicant and short description of the operations in every site; detailed information on whether the applicant and each site act in the supply chain on their behalf and in their name, or act in their name and on behalf of other person, or act on the name and on behalf of other person;
  • detailed information on whether the goods are purchased by and/or are provided by operators related to the applicant;
  • description of the organization structure of the applicant;
  • number of employees, total and in the different departments;
  • names of the key employees (executive directors, department managers, chief accountants, chief of customs department, etc). Description of the adopted procedures, in case of absence of the competent employee – temporary or permanent;
  • names and positions of the persons in the applicant’s administration with special customs training. Assessment of the level of knowledge of those persons in respect of using information technologies in the customs and business procedures and the general business matters;
  • agreement or disagreement with publishing the information from the AEO certificate in the list of the authorised economic operators.

Working time: from 09:00 am to 05:30 pm – on work days, without intermission

How to get the results?

You will receive the service result as follows:

 

  • electronically – at your email or through the portal for electronic services of Customs Agency;
  • at the National Customs Agency;
  • through postal courier services, to your correspondence address;
  • through postal courier services, to other address;
